Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)

Behaviour Support Services

Our ABA Services provide targeted behavioural consultation and capacity-building support for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental or behavioural needs within the school and home environment. Services are delivered through regular in-community visits, with virtual consultation and follow-up as required.

A Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) works collaboratively with families, educators, and school staff to promote consistency and effective support strategies.

  • Meeting with families to identify concerns and establish goals.
  • Consulting with teachers and classroom support staff to identify classroom challenges and priorities.
  • Observing students within the classroom or learning environment.
  • Developing individualized, practical behaviour and learning strategies.
  • Working directly with students with a focus on skill building.
  • Sharing and reviewing strategies with families and school staff.
  • Providing training and coaching to teachers and school staff on strategy implementation.
  • Following up with families and school staff to review progress and adjust strategies as needed.
This service model strengthens classroom capacity, supports student engagement and regulation, and promotes positive learning outcomes through collaborative, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed practice.

ABA Intensive Early Learning and School Readiness Services

The ABA School Readiness Program is designed to address gaps in access to early Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) supports for young children, particularly in rural and remote communities where services are often limited. The program supports children approximately between ages 2–6, with or without a formal diagnosis, including children whose caregivers have concerns about developmental, communication, or behavioural needs.

Services are delivered through regular, intensive community-based visits and include a combination of small-group and individual ABA sessions.

  • Children preparing to enter school who require additional support to be ready for the classroom.
  • Young children currently attending school who are experiencing challenges with early learning, communication, or behaviour.
  • Young children not yet attending school who would benefit from early skill development and structured learning opportunities.

Interventions focus on building foundational communication, self-regulation, and school readiness skills, including following instructions, making requests, labeling, answering questions, and developing early learning skills.

Sessions are delivered in pre-arranged community settings and combine targeted skill development with coaching and support for parents and caregivers. Caregivers may also be involved and receive guidance to support skill generalization at home. When appropriate, school or childcare staff are included or provided with separate training to support consistency across environments.

Services are delivered by an ABA Instructor Therapist under the clinical supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA), ensuring individualized, high-quality programming that supports long-term developmental and educational success.

Professional Development and Capacity Building

We offer professional development and teacher/staff training to build school capacity to support children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental or behavioural challenges in their classrooms.

Professional development sessions and/or training are delivered through in-person or virtual training and are led by a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA).

  • Understanding autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Learning about the “why” of challenging behaviours.
  • Behaviour assessments.
  • Individual and classroom behaviour strategies.
  • Behaviour support plans.

Dalton Associates (DA) and Launch Behavioural Health acknowledge that we are situated on Turtle Island, that has been inhabited by Indigenous Peoples from the beginning. As a settler-owned organization, we are always working on de-colonizing our practices and offering mental health services that reflect a wholistic approach to health and wellness. Our clients come from a variety of backgrounds, and include First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples. We want to do more than make a difference at an individual level: we aspire to support a societal shift in the way that mental health is addressed and cared for, and we believe that a cross-cultural approach, bringing Indigenous worldviews to the forefront, is necessary to help break the system and rebuild it in a way that promotes healthy wellbeing for future generations. We are actively engaged in changing the landscape of mental health care in Ontario, by augmenting (and compensating) the voices and experiences of Indigenous knowledge keepers, and by incorporating Indigenous values and teachings in our program models.
