Gurpreet Saini, BaSC, MACP

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Gurpreet is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario. She holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from Yorkville University, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Guelph, with a specialization in Intercultural relations. She also holds an Arts & Science diploma from Humber College.

Gurpreet brings a diverse clinical background, having worked in interventional psychiatry programs through the University of Toronto, where she supported individuals experiencing treatment-resistant anxiety, depression, and OCD. She has extensive experience providing care to children, youth, and adults facing behavioral and mental health challenges. Her work spans various settings, including hospitals—within trauma and neurosurgery departments, inpatient mental health and addictions units—and outpatient environments offering both individual and group psychotherapy.

Her career began as an Instructor Therapist delivering Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, which laid the foundation for her client-centered and developmentally sensitive approach.

Gurpreet’s therapeutic framework centers on an autonomous, strengths-based view of individuals. She helps clients identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns, build resilience, and create meaningful change. Drawing on evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), she promotes healthier thinking, emotional regulation, and coping skills. Her goal is to empower individuals to face challenges with greater self-awareness, confidence, and emotional well-being.

Dalton Associates (DA) and Launch Behavioural Health acknowledge that we are situated on Turtle Island, that has been inhabited by Indigenous Peoples from the beginning. As a settler-owned organization, we are always working on de-colonizing our practices and offering mental health services that reflect a wholistic approach to health and wellness. Our clients come from a variety of backgrounds, and include First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples. We want to do more than make a difference at an individual level: we aspire to support a societal shift in the way that mental health is addressed and cared for, and we believe that a cross-cultural approach, bringing Indigenous worldviews to the forefront, is necessary to help break the system and rebuild it in a way that promotes healthy wellbeing for future generations. We are actively engaged in changing the landscape of mental health care in Ontario, by augmenting (and compensating) the voices and experiences of Indigenous knowledge keepers, and by incorporating Indigenous values and teachings in our program models.
