Comprehensive ABA Services

Comprehensive ABA treatment, sometimes referred to as Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI), targets a broad range of skills across all learning domains with the goal of accelerating your child’s rate of acquisition and increasing their learning trajectory. Treatment is intensive, ranging from 20-40 hours per week and includes regular parent and caregiver homework and coaching. Focused ABA Services

Focused Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) targets a limited number of treatment goals, generally over a short period of time. These goals can include learning new skills or reducing challenging behaviours. Parent and caregiver training is a key component of focused ABA treatment in order to successfully generalize and maintain skills in a client’s natural environment and to support family and caregivers in managing challenging behaviours (BACB 2014).

Parent Coaching

The Parent Coaching program is best suited for families who are looking to address specific goals at home or in the community. Our clinical team will train parents/caregivers to implement specific interventions based on their goals and assessment results. Goals could include, but are not limited to, working on self-help skills (e.g., independent dressing or toilet training), communication (e.g., increasing expressive communication), behaviour reduction (e.g., reducing challenging behaviours using function-based strategies), play skills (e.g., increasing independent play during free time) or social skills (e.g., initiating and sustaining interactions with peers).

What We Offer:

  • Individualized treatment goals and recommendations.
  • Flexibility in service intensity.
  • Training and supervision by a Registered Psychologist.
  • Parent coaching offered in-person or virtually via ZoomHealth.
  • Parent mediated, 1:1 client sessions, or a combination of both parent mediated and 1:1 sessions.

Commitment From Parents:

  • Active participation
  • Consistent implementation of the recommended strategies
  • Data collection to monitor progress

In some cases, in addition to parent mediated strategies and teaching, it may be determined that 1:1 sessions with your child are required to teach them skills directly. An intake meeting (approximately 1 hour) is required to determine the type of service that is most appropriate for you and your family.

Dalton Associates (DA) and Launch Behavioural Health acknowledge that we are situated on Turtle Island, that has been inhabited by Indigenous Peoples from the beginning. As a settler-owned organization, we are always working on de-colonizing our practices and offering mental health services that reflect a wholistic approach to health and wellness. Our clients come from a variety of backgrounds, and include First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples. We want to do more than make a difference at an individual level: we aspire to support a societal shift in the way that mental health is addressed and cared for, and we believe that a cross-cultural approach, bringing Indigenous worldviews to the forefront, is necessary to help break the system and rebuild it in a way that promotes healthy wellbeing for future generations. We are actively engaged in changing the landscape of mental health care in Ontario, by augmenting (and compensating) the voices and experiences of Indigenous knowledge keepers, and by incorporating Indigenous values and teachings in our program models.
