Psychological Assessment Services
Helping you better understand strengths, challenges, learning needs, development, behaviour, and mental health.
A comprehensive psychological assessment can provide detailed information about an individual's strengths, areas of need, learning profile, development, behaviour, and mental health.
Depending on the reason for referral, assessment services may include developmental, psychoeducational, autism-specific, and ADHD-specific testing. Information is gathered through standardized assessment tools, direct observation, and, when appropriate, input from parents, caregivers, school staff, or other individuals involved in the person's life.
At the end of the assessment process, you will receive a written report outlining the assessment results, diagnostic considerations where applicable, referrals to appropriate services, and practical recommendations based on the individual's strengths and areas of need.
An assessment may help:
- Identify an individual's strengths and areas requiring additional support
- Clarify diagnostic considerations and better understand developmental, learning, behavioural, or attention-related concerns
- Provide practical strategies for addressing social, emotional, or behavioural concerns at home, school, or work
- Inform learning strategies, accommodations, modifications, and other school supports
- Support Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Identification, Placement, and Review Committee (IPRC) planning
- Identify appropriate college, university, and workplace accommodations
- Provide documentation that may support access to applicable programs, services, or benefits

Weekday assessment appointments are available at our Fergus clinic. Please contact Launch for current availability.
Assessment Fees
Comprehensive psychological assessments typically range from $3,500 to $4,000. Reduced fees may apply for abbreviated assessments.
Abbreviated Assessments
Abbreviated assessments may be available when a comprehensive assessment is not required, including some eligibility assessments such as those completed for Developmental Services Ontario (DSO).

In addition to Fergus, psychological assessments are offered through our Toronto and Owen Sound offices. Virtual assessment options may also be available when appropriate.

Weekday appointments are available at Launch offices. Weekend and weekday assessment appointments for children and youth may also be available through our Toronto office.
What Can an Assessment Help With?
- Providing detailed information about strengths, interests, and areas of need.

Getting Started
- Register with Launch to begin the psychological assessment process.
- After registration, you will complete a brief initial meeting with a member of our psychology team.
- During this meeting, we will clarify the reason for the assessment, discuss your questions and concerns, and review the assessment process.
- The psychology team will determine the appropriate assessment approach and arrange assessment appointments.
- Assessment information is gathered using standardized testing, observation, and other relevant sources of information.
- At the conclusion of the process, results and recommendations are reviewed and a written assessment report is provided.
Assessment Documentation & Recommendations
Where applicable, assessment documentation may help support access to programs or benefits such as the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), Special Services at Home (SSAH), the Disability Tax Credit Certificate, the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), Developmental Services Ontario (DSO), or the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). Eligibility for individual programs is determined by the applicable program or organization.
Other Services Available in Fergus
In addition to psychological assessments, Launch offers a range of behavioural health and mental health supports at our Fergus clinic.
Our ABA programs help children build key skills and reach their potential through individualized, one-to-one support. Programs are guided by a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) and delivered by trained Instructor Therapists.
Treatment is typically intensive, ranging from 8 to 20 hours per week, and includes regular parent involvement, coaching, and opportunities to practice skills at home.

- Communication and social skills
- Daily living and self-help skills
- Emotional regulation
- Reduction of challenging behaviours
Who This Service Is For
ABA services are generally provided to children approximately 2 to 10 years of age.
Schedule
Monday to Friday. Sessions are typically 8:00 AM–12:00 PM or 12:30 PM–4:30 PM. A minimum of 8 hours per week is required.
Fees
- $3,500/month – 8 hours/week
- $5,000/month – 12 hours/week
- $6,500/month – 16 hours/week
- $8,000/month – 20 hours/week
- $140/hour for supervised psychological ABA services
Getting Started
The first step is registration and an intake assessment. The $500 intake assessment fee is waived when services begin within two weeks of completion of the intake process.
Children, youth, and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities may also experience anxiety, low mood, difficulty managing emotions, challenges with social connections, or difficulties building independence.
Our team provides personalized support using evidence-based approaches including Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

- Emotion regulation
- Anxiety and specific phobias
- Executive functioning challenges
- Tic disorders
- Social skills and relationships
- Self-advocacy and independence
Who This Service Is For
Children, youth, and adults with neurodevelopmental and mental health needs.
Schedule
Daytime and evening sessions may be available on weekdays, with weekend availability depending on clinician schedules.
Location
Sessions may be completed in person at our Fergus clinic or virtually when clinically appropriate and preferred.
Fees
Fees generally range from $175 to $250 per hour, depending on the service and clinician.
We provide evidence-based behavioural services for children, youth, and adults with ADHD and executive functioning difficulties.

In-person sessions are available at the Fergus clinic. Parent coaching may be provided virtually.
Adults
Adult ADHD sessions are currently completed virtually during weekday daytime hours.
Fees
Rates vary by session length and clinician, ranging from approximately $50–$75 for 15 minutes up to $175–$250 per hour.
Executive functioning skills are the brain-based abilities that help us learn, work, organize ourselves, solve problems, and manage emotions from day to day.
Our Executive Functioning program uses evidence-based behavioural strategies to help children and teens build practical skills and confidence at home, at school, and in the community. Parent coaching helps families reinforce strategies outside of sessions.
Goals may include:
- Emotional regulation and response inhibition
- Cognitive flexibility and problem solving
- Organization, planning, and time management
- Working memory
- Task initiation and managing procrastination
- Attentional control and self-monitoring
Who This Service Is For
Children and teens with executive functioning difficulties, including those with ADHD and/or autism.
Session Length
Child and teen sessions are typically 45 minutes. Parent sessions are typically one hour.
Location
Child and teen sessions are available in person at our Fergus clinic. Parent coaching may be completed virtually.
Fees
Rates vary by session length and clinician, ranging from approximately $50–$75 for 15 minutes up to $175–$250 per hour.
Extended Health Benefits & Insurance
Psychological services are not covered by OHIP. However, assessment services may be covered in full or in part through an extended health care benefits or insurance plan. Coverage varies between plans, so we recommend reviewing your individual policy to determine whether psychological assessment services are included.
